That’s right, its time for that next update. It’s been 9 weeks since my last, and I would say its been eventful but I know the most exciting thing is still 15 weeks away. This update will be mainly about what I have experienced since the last one and how things have changed.
So as you can see from the picture above, my bump has grown just a little since 16 weeks and trust me, people are not afraid to let me know this. Here are just a some of my personal favourite things I have heard, ‘are you sure there is only one in there?’, ‘wow you are only ** weeks’, ‘gosh, you’ve got big’ and not to forget… ‘you’re going to have a massive baby’. Now I know these comments are meant well and 99% of the time, I promise, I take them this way, but when they catch me on the 1% of the time where I am less tolerant it does get to me.
I have read a few pregnancy/ baby books now (any excuse to buy more books really) and they all say about how insomnia and being to uncomfortable to sleep comes in the 3rd trimester… well this just means I have even less sleep coming because I don’t think I have had a good night sleep in weeks! I’m uncomfortable, hot and my brain won’t switch off, and as a result me and the hubby don’t sleep. I’m tossing and turning all night. Along with that joint paint and foot swelling, but I have a few tips and tricks I have picked up already to help with those, but that’s for another post….
So far all I feel like I have done is complain, but I can honestly say I wouldn’t change any of it. At my 20 week they were happy with baby’s progress and how it was growing and I couldn’t be more happy or thankful for that.
We didn’t find out what we are having, it’s a little surprise, please feel free to guess in comments below! We always said we wouldn’t find out, as for us it makes it even more special than it already would be, although it makes shopping a little more tricky!
We haven’t brought too much so far, my sister has been the one to buy most of the clothes. We did buy a travel system which I love and will review separately (when I have a baby to review it with) and also a Tommie Tippee steriliser and nappy bin (again which I will review when I actually use it).
I know I complained about people talking about my size but I actually love my bump. I think it’s just the nicest shape and now im at the stage where people will openly ask about me being pregnant, rather than that in between stage where they’re unsure if I had just put on weight.
I also love how much baby is kicking now! It’s almost as if when I gently poke my tummy in a certain way the baby is responding. My hubby has even felt the kicks now as well which is nice, although bubba does have a habit of stopping as soon as I tell him its kicking!
I can’t believe I have 15 week until my due date, but I am sure it will go super quickly. I will try to do 5 week updates from now on to keep any of you up to date.
Thanks for reading,
Lots of love
