As you read from my post the other day I am looking at making a few simple changes to my life to make me a little happier. I am not doing this for anyone else…. Just me. If you haven’t read that post, check it out.
So, as point 4 said, I want to make a little more effort in how I look. I want to put on makeup each day, like I used to and even attempt to do my hair. So todays post will be about the makeup I am currently using, and it takes me just 5 minutes to apply.
As I busy mum of a toddler, finding time to do my makeup is quite difficult, so here are the things that I use which mean I can get my makeup done it just a few minutes. It’s nothing fancy and far from makeup artist standard but I feel like I look a little more ‘put together’.
So let’s do this in order:
Foundation: Revlon Colourstay
After I use my normal moisturiser, I use this foundation. I apply this with a Real Techniques sponge and apply just a light covering all over my face. I love this foundation because you don’t need a lot and it’s got good coverage without being ‘cakey’
Concealer: Revlon – Colourstay
I love this concealer! I use just a little under my eyes and around my nose and then any blemishes I have. I use the Real Techniques tiny sponge and its takes seconds to blend in.
Powder: Revolution – Luxury Powder
I don’t always do this step, it depends how I am feeling. If I want a glowey look I leave it but if I am looking for a matte finished I use this power with the Real Techniques brush. I dab it under my eyes and where the concealer is and then all over the rest of my face.
Bronzer: Bourjois Bronzing powder
I used to use blush as well, but I don’t bother anymore. I love this bronzer as its really subtle and blends easily. Just a tiny bit on my cheek bones and its ready.
Eyebrows: L’Oréal brow artist
because I have blonde hair this step is essential and actually if I am in a massive rush I skip everything above and just go for brows and lashes. I am not a massive fan of this product as it’s a little harsh, but it’s what I have at the moment and the brush isn’t too bad to blend. If you have any brow recommendations please leave them In the comments
Lashes: Maybelline – the falsies
so I am using this at the moment but again, not a massive fan. I think post pregnancy my lashes have really suffered, they are now sad and straight. I think I will treat myself to the Benefit ‘They’re Real’ as I know I love this stuff and also maybe a lash perm…. We will see.
So that’s it. It takes me 5 minutes and I just feel like I have made a little effort for the day. Like I said, I am not doing this for anyone but me. My husband has to love me anyway and I don’t really care what others think, so it’s really just so I feel like I am ready for the day.
I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what your make up essentials are below
Lots of love,
